During the second quarter of 2024, the top 5 music and audio applications in South Africa experienced varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts showed a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $26K in late April. Weekly downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of about 116K in late April but dropping to around 79K by the end of June. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 1M throughout the quarter.

Tubidy Mp3 Music Downloader saw a decrease in weekly downloads from around 83K at the beginning of April to approximately 48K by the end of June. However, active users showed a positive trend, growing from about 127K to 132K over the same period.

Music Player & MP3 - DDMusic experienced varying download numbers, with a notable peak of around 63K in late April. Active users also saw growth, increasing from about 69K at the start of April to nearly 97K by the end of June.
